Rachelle + John

(February 26, 2022 in Coeur D'Alene, ID)

In this blog post, our real bride Rachelle shares her experience with wedding dress shopping and planning her wedding. She wanted a simple and easy wedding. With the support of her loved ones, the author was able to keep true to herself and plan a wedding that reflected her and her partner's personalities. On the day of the wedding, everything fell into place, and the author felt like she was walking on clouds. She advises future brides to keep it simple and true to themselves.

Rachelle looked INCREDIBLE in our Shiloh gown by Wtoo. The deep V-neck illusion bodice is covered in a floral lace motif, complete with a row of dainty-covered buttons in the back. An A-line skirt composed of layers of soft English netting finishes off this romantic gown.

By our real bride, Rachelle:

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

Wedding dress shopping was a dream. I have been following Honest in Ivory as well as Dearly for awhile and knew that it was the store for me. I knew I wanted a simple and easy wedding, that’s just the type of people we are and so I felt like Dearly was going to be the best bet for me. The moment I walked through Dearly's doors, my wedding felt real. They treated me with so much love, I felt so beautiful and confident in each dress I tried on it actually was a hard decision. They didn't pressure me and told me I would know when it was right.

I ended up leaving to think about it and went to grab a bite to eat. While sitting at lunch with my girlfriends, it dawned on me that I made a huge mistake leaving without my dress, Shiloh! I called Dearly and they had availability so I went back and purchased my dress! I decided a long time ago wedding planning was going to be easy because I wanted simple and fun. I kept true to us as a couple and everything else fell into place.

How did it go the day-of?

Our day was a dream. I felt as if I was walking through clouds all day. My daughter and I got ready together; she was treated like a princess and she looked like one too! Watching her tell everyone she was getting married was the highlight. We took pictures in some incredible spaces with our kids and some by ourselves. We had an intimate ceremony with just our kids on the water and saying our vows to each other with them by our side made it magical. I felt my promise was deeper with our kids as our witnesses. We came back in and picked up our family to celebrate with an evening of drinks and appetizers. It was simple and it was us!

What would be your advice to future brides?

Keep it simple!
