Kindra + Steve

(June 12, 2021 in Colbert, WA)

In today’s blog post, we hear from our real bride Kindra about how she saw her wedding vision come to life on her wedding day. She knew she wanted a simple and classic wedding with hints of rustic charm, and she made sure to prioritize what was most important to her and her partner. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly thanks to the help of family and friends, and the evening was filled with love and laughter. Her advice to future brides is to not sweat the small stuff and to make decisions based on what you and your partner want, even if it's unconventional.

Kindra looked BREATHTAKING in our Delilah gown by Martina Liana. This is a stunning crepe fit and flare with gorgeous floral lace appliqués that frame the hips and highlight curves. The unlined bodice accentuates the waistline and buttons going all the way down the train adding the perfect final touch. A stunning low back with dainty beaded straps and an organic train complete this absolutely gorgeous gown.

By our real bride, Kindra:

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

For someone who is relatively type-A with just about everything, I was surprisingly relaxed when it came to the whole wedding planning process. I knew I wanted a relatively simple wedding that was classic and a little bit rustic. I pictured candles, greenery, wood, hints of purple, and a blue summer sky. We wanted it to be about Steve and I, and our loved ones, rather than the wedding itself being such a huge deal.

How did it go the day-of?

Our day was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't even have one problem come up. I attribute that to the fact that we had a ton of great friends and family who helped us a TON on the day of, and the months leading up to, the wedding. My grammy arranged all of the flowers, my uncle officiated the wedding, the aunties cut the cheesecakes, and all of our vendors were either friends or direct recommendations from friends. The whole evening was so laidback and relaxed! The weather was amazing, the food was super tasty, and so many of the important people in our lives were able to attend. We had a great time hanging out and getting ready beforehand. I didn't feel stressed all day, but I definitely got some butterflies when it was getting close to the start of the ceremony. The rest of the evening was a bit of a blur, but it was the sweetest and most loving blur ever.

What would be your advice to future brides?

Try not to sweat the small stuff. Know what's most important to the both of you and prioritize your time and money to those things. It's so much easier that way to not get caught up in the nitty gritty and stress over things that don't really matter. Also, make sure all of your decisions are based on what the two of you want, even if it's unconventional or a little inconvenient. For example, we really wanted the ceremony to be the first time we saw each other, even though it made the timeline of the day a little more complicated without a first look. We don't regret it at all and it was one of my favorite things about our wedding!
