This blog post describes the experience of wedding dress shopping and wedding planning. The author's vision was for a fall wedding with cool colors and an outdoor venue. She was drawn to a specific style of dress, which made dress shopping easy. Planning the wedding for 500 people was challenging, but the author enjoyed every part of it. The day of the wedding was perfect, with sunny weather and all the smoke from nearby fires cleared. The author advises future brides to take everything in, plan with their future spouse, and enjoy every moment.

Our real bride Baylee looked absolutely phenomenal in this Stella York gown. Lace and flowy crepe chiffon create a simple yet refined A-line silhouette, but the real showpiece is the lace long sleeves! Beautifully gathered at the waist, the layers of chiffon create a gorgeously full effect without the weight, perfect for twirling across the dance floor. Floating lace has been placed on the sleeves and back for a light and airy feeling while a long crepe chiffon train is finished with fabric-covered buttons.

How was wedding dress shopping and wedding planning for you? What was your vision?

When I first started looking at dress designs on Pinterest, I was ALL over the place but soon found my eye was drawn to a certain style: a lacy top with a flowy skirt and I LOVED sleeves!

I wanted to get married in the fall so I needed cool colors. I also knew I wanted an outdoor wedding, so something comfortable but elegant.

All the dresses selected for me were BEAUTIFUL, but I was still drawn to the one style and it was so easy to find the perfect dress for me. I tried on my dress and instantly knew it was mine. It was exactly like the pictures I had shown to my stylist Laurel as well.

Dress shopping was the easy part. But next I had to plan a wedding for roughly 500 people, and that was not easy.. but every part of it was amazing. I wouldn’t change anything!

How did it go the day-of?

The day of my wedding was perfect. ALL the smoke that was covering the valley due to fires everywhere in Washington had completely cleared. It turned out to be a sunny and 75 degree perfect day. Things were a little chaotic, getting ready and making sure everyone was able to get to my wedding. Because our venue was a private property, we had to work out some kinks, but it turned out to be a day I will NEVER forget.

What would be your advice to future brides?

My advice to every future bride is to take it ALL in. The chaos, the happiness, the tears, the stress, the excitement. Take everything one step at a time, but enjoy every moment because it is ALL worth it in the end. I would also advise each bride to plan WITH your future spouse. It was fun and even though most men won’t own up to it, they also have a vision of what they would like on their special day.
